Spotlight on Filmmaker Josephine Halbert - Music and Film

Josephine Halbert is a filmmaker. artist, writer and music producer. Back in 2009 she made a short film, the award winning Time Travel Boyfriends. Time Travel Boyfriends is a fantasy love letter to twelve historical figures including Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Orson Welles, Marlon Brando and Jim Morrison  It started out as a book, then art exhibition and then an adaptation into a 10 minute short film. The film was bought and distributed theatrically in France, screened at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and was winner of the PRIX RADi Distribution award prize.

Josephine ~ "The work is an exploration of love and loss and the lure of the unattainable...but especially the freedom of fantasy. Elmer Clifton started it (Born 1890, star of stage and the silent movie era). He jumped out of a book I was reading in the British Film Institute library and I just knew him at once. I realised if I'd been around when he had he was just the type of guy I would go and get involved with. This triggered thoughts about other men from the past. So I followed my bliss and started my own time travel dating agency...".

Singer songwriter Amy Odell composed the beautiful music for Time Travel Boyfriends and the soundtrack is now available on iTunes . The soundtrack is the first release on Ammadore Records. Amy can be find on Twitter at @_AmyOdell .

An offshoot of Time Travel Boyfriends, Josephine's new one hour radio drama titled Jim expands on the Jim Morrison section of the film and tells the story of a rock n roll romance set in the 1960s. The soundtrack, produced especially for the radio play, is by the band Desert Mountain Tribe and is available on iTunes . AmazonUK , AmazonUS (more channels to come). 

Josephine ~ "I saw the band play at a Discovery 2 event, the established London showcase of new talent, run by a friend of mine and one of Discovery's founders, Alex Kerr Wilson. I thought they were a great live band. The production soundtrack needed to speak a credible language of the late 1960s psychedelic rock era but I also wanted to find musicians who could bring their own contemporary originality, talent and style into the creative mix". 

Time Travel Boyfriends and Jim soundtracks are the very first releases on Ammadore Records.

The promotional music video for the Jim radio play is titled Never Stop (live), featuring music from Desert Mountain Tribe and starring actress Charlotte Quita Jones. The world premiere of the music video / short film was screened at The Santa Fe Film Festival in New Mexico, USA on Saturday 10th December, with Strangers On The Earth at 7pm .  Read more on this on the official Santa Fe Film Festival website here .
